Victron MultiPlus — these are premium-class inverter-chargers that combine the functions of an uninterruptible power supply and intelligent battery charging. They are used in off-grid power supply systems, marine vessels, transportation, hybrid solar power plants, and telecommunications facilities. Total-Energo LLC provides a full range of diagnostic and repair services for MultiPlus inverters of all configurations: single-phase, three-phase, parallel systems, and models with VE.Bus or Smart Bluetooth. We restore both the electronics and the control system as well as communication interfaces, guaranteeing high-quality results and prompt service.
Repair Process
- Initial Diagnostics — performed using test benches and VictronConnect and VEConfigure software, which allows us to determine the cause of the malfunction: inverter errors, VE.Bus failures, overheating, phase break, short circuit, or damage to power supply components.
- Removal of the power supply board, power section, and control unit — with a full assessment of the condition of transistors, chokes, power source switching relays, PWM controllers, drivers, and optocouplers.
- Ordering and installation of new components — only original or certified equivalents of MOSFET/IGBT transistors, IR, TI, and STM drivers, MC34063 and LM358 ICs, as well as high-temperature electrolytic capacitors are used.
- Cleaning and maintenance — the entire board is cleaned of dust, condensation marks, corrosion, or oxidation (especially relevant for models that have been used on yachts, in RVs, containers, or damp environments).
- Firmware and configuration — VEConfigure software is used to configure parameters: transition voltage, charge levels, PowerAssist algorithms, remote VRM monitoring, and BMS compatibility.
- Load Testing — the inverter is tested under loads ranging from 10% to 100% per phase, including verification of grid-inverter switching, logging via USB or VE.Direct, and connection to GX devices or Cerbo GX.
- Documentation — we provide a technical report with conclusions, a list of replaced components, recommendations for further operation, as well as a service warranty ranging from 3 to 12 months depending on the scope of work.
Batteries and compatibility
During repairs, we pay special attention to the condition of batteries connected to Victron MultiPlus. These inverters are critically dependent on battery quality, especially when operating in PowerAssist mode and with high charging currents. We diagnose:
- AGM and GEL batteries — checking ESR, depth of cycle wear, and correct cell voltage. If necessary — we recommend replacement or balancing.
- LiFePO4 batteries with BMS — performance analysis via VE.Bus or CAN port, verification of correct configuration (including Victron Smart BMS, Lynx Shunt, Lynx Distributor), and compatibility with the built-in charger.
- Connection to external monitoring systems — such as Venus OS, VRM, GX Touch, or other remote control devices. If necessary, we update the firmware and resolve conflicts between firmware versions or incorrectly configured BMS parameters.
Service support
- Technical consultations — we provide recommendations on proper connection, selection of inverter modes, and integration with solar power plants, generators, or diesel systems.
- Upgrades — we can replace MultiPlus I units with new MultiPlus II models featuring higher charging current support, internal transformer protection, and ESS functions.
- VE.Bus and VE.Direct Support — troubleshooting firmware issues, compatibility with Cerbo GX and Color Control GX devices, and support for automatic switching in three-phase mode.
- Customization for specific applications — adaptation for medical equipment, telecom cabinets, systems with generator backup or bypass modes.
