Total-Energo LLC provides professional repair and maintenance services for Vertiv (formerly Emerson) Liebert® GXT5 Lithium-Ion uninterruptible power supplies. These models represent the latest generation of the GXT5 line, equipped with built-in lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that provide long-lasting runtime, higher reliability, and reduced operating costs.
Liebert® GXT5 Li-Ion is an online double-conversion UPS with a rack/tower form factor, SNMP and USB interfaces, relay outputs, and advanced monitoring capabilities via Vertiv Power Insight. The LiFePO4 batteries are built into the enclosure, have a service life of over 10 years, and require minimal maintenance.
Repair procedure
- Initial diagnostics: reading logs via USB, SNMP, evaluating alarm messages, checking interfaces and battery status via BMS;
- Inspection and testing of the inverter, rectifier, and charging module: checking output voltage stability, operation in Online, Battery, and ECO modes;
- Diagnostics of the control board and display module: checking buttons, screen, ports (USB, Ethernet), SNMP modules, BMS communication;
- Checking the condition of lithium iron phosphate batteries: reading BMS data (cell voltage, temperature, cycle count, errors), load discharge testing;
- Cleaning the enclosure and cooling system: cleaning air ducts, checking fans, temperature sensors, and temperature control;
- Replacing faulty components: relay modules, fans, communication ports, battery controllers, control boards;
- Firmware update to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of Vertiv Power Insight;
- Commissioning and debugging: checking automatic mode switching, simulating a power outage, checking runtime and switchover time;
- Preparation of a work completion report listing replaced components, battery metrics, and test results.
If complex repairs or diagnostics of the BMS and battery bank are required, the work is performed at the service center of Total-Energo LLC using Vertiv test benches and software.
Maintenance of the LiFePO4
battery systemThe GXT5 Lithium-Ion series is already equipped with built-in lithium iron phosphate batteries with an integrated BMS. We provide the following services:
- Battery module diagnostics: checking the voltage of each cell, temperature conditions, charge/discharge history, and detecting degradation;
- Modular battery replacement: provided the appropriate kit is available, replacement is performed without compromising the UPS’s seal (with the manufacturer’s permission);
- Advantages of LiFePO4 in the GXT5 model:
- Extended service life — up to 15 years;
- Fast charging time (3–4 times faster than AGM);
- Significantly lower weight of the device with the battery;
- Enhanced safety thanks to the built-in BMS;

GXT5 Li-Ion service support
- Periodic maintenance (every 6–12 months): battery health monitoring, mode testing, software updates;
- Remote monitoring via SNMP or Vertiv Power Insight — installation and configuration of interfaces;
- Failover backup: customized configuration of redundancy systems at facilities with critical loads;
- Guaranteed engineer dispatch — within 4 hours (for Kyiv and the surrounding region);
- Modernization consulting: transition from AGM models to Li-Ion, selection of the optimal architecture for the client’s needs.

Total-Energo LLC provides full technical maintenance for Liebert® GXT5 Lithium-Ion under a service support agreement:
