Total-Energo LLC provides qualified repair, maintenance, and modernization of high-power Vertiv Liebert® EXL S1 UPS systems for critical infrastructure, data centers, banks, medical facilities, and industrial enterprises. This is a high-performance three-phase uninterruptible power supply system that delivers up to 97% efficiency in online (VFI) mode and up to 99% in Dynamic Online Mode.
The Liebert® EXL S1 is available in configurations ranging from 300 to 1250 kVA and supports parallel operation without a common control bus. The UPS is equipped with a modern touchscreen interface with visualization, built-in BMS functions, energy auditing, and monitoring with cloud integration.
Repair procedure algorithm
- Preliminary diagnostics of the controller, inverter module, rectifier, charger, and communication interfaces (SNMP, Modbus, BACnet);
- Reading event logs and error codes from the touchscreen panel and via network access;
- Inspection and testing of power components (IGBTs, power modules, control boards, contactors, relays, bypass module);
- Cleaning of cooling channels, inspection of fans, temperature sensors, and overheating protections;
- Repair or replacement of damaged components: display, logic boards, interfaces, power supplies, fans;
- Firmware updates (if supported by Vertiv);
- Testing in all operating modes: mains-powered, standby, ECO mode, and under load;
- Preparation of a work completion report, with a detailed description of all procedures, recommendations, and comments.
In the event of complex repairs (replacement of IGBTs, power modules, complete system reconfiguration), the equipment is transported to the service center of Total-Energo LLC for subsequent bench testing.
Battery system maintenance
The EXL S1 UPS works with various types of external batteries, including lithium systems:
- Battery condition assessment: measurement of voltage and current, internal resistance, temperature, and degradation;
- Replacement of lead-acid batteries (AGM, GEL) with high-quality batteries recommended by the manufacturer;
- Battery system upgrade to extend runtime;
- Transition to LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) with integration into the BMS system and configuration of interaction with the UPS;
Advantages of LiFePO4:
- Service life of up to 15 years or 5,000+ cycles;
- Lower weight and volume compared to GEL/AGM;
- Stable operation at high charge and discharge currents;
- High safety and integration with BMS;
- Fast charging, reduced maintenance costs.
Service support and modernization
- Scheduled maintenance: once every six months or according to an agreed schedule;
- Performance testing and operating mode analysis with energy consumption assessment;
- Integration with DCIM, BMS, connection to Liebert® Nform, LIFE™ Services, and the customer’s SCADA systems;
- Preparation of technical documentation, configuration of remote monitoring;
- Warranty on installed spare parts — from 6 to 24 months.
