Total-Energo LLC provides professional repair and maintenance services for AEG Protect D series uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). These online double-conversion (VFI) UPS units are designed for mission-critical systems in server rooms, telecommunications hubs, medical facilities, video surveillance systems, and banking and office infrastructures. The series covers capacities from 1 to 10 kVA and features a compact design, high efficiency, and the option to be installed in a rack or as a standalone tower unit.
The AEG Protect D series supports integration with advanced communication interfaces (USB, RS-232, SNMP), features an automatic bypass function, an LCD display for monitoring parameters, and the ability to work with external battery packs. Repair Work Procedure
- Device diagnostics: reading logs, checking event logs, analyzing the operation of the inverter, rectifier, and bypass;
- Testing of control boards, microprocessor, display, communication interfaces (USB, SNMP, RS-232);
- Inspection of power modules: IGBTs, diodes, drivers, relays, fuses, DC capacitors;
- Assessment of battery condition (AGM/GEL or LiFePO₄): voltage, resistance, discharge time, cell degradation;
- Cleaning of the device: removal of dust, inspection of the ventilation system, replacement of faulty fans;
- Preparation of a defect report describing malfunctions, listing spare parts, and agreeing on deadlines and cost estimates;
- Supply and replacement of faulty components (boards, power module components, displays, connectors, batteries);
- Updating the controller's firmware if new versions are available from the manufacturer;
- Commissioning and debugging: testing operation in normal and emergency modes, with and without bypass;
- Load testing up to 100%, checking autonomy, response to power outage;
- Signing the certificate of completion and commissioning the device with recommendations for the user.
In the event of complex repairs (e.g., replacement of power logic or high-frequency components), the device is transported to the service center of Total-Energo LLC, where repairs are performed in a laboratory setting.
Battery replacement and modernization
AEG Protect D supports the connection of external batteries to extend runtime. We provide services for:
- Replacement of standard AGM/GEL batteries with new ones, with a service life of up to 10 years;
- Upgrading to LiFePO4 batteries with the following advantages:
- Over 6,000 charge/discharge cycles (compared to 300–500 in VRLA);
- Significantly lower weight and dimensions of the battery system;
- Enhanced safety: thermal stability, fire resistance, environmental friendliness;
- Intelligent control via BMS (Battery Management System);
- Fast charging, adaptability to frequent charge cycles.
- Balancing and testing of the battery pack, configuration of charging algorithms in the UPS controller.
Service support for AEG Protect D UPS
- Scheduled technical inspections 1–4 times a year: checking all components, battery condition, logic, and communication interfaces;
- Preventive maintenance: detection of battery capacity degradation, wear of power components, and network communication failures;
- Installation of SNMP cards for monitoring within the corporate network and integration with power management systems;
- Rapid response to failures, provision of replacement equipment as needed;
- Consulting and staff training on proper operation, updates, battery replacement, etc.
