Repair Work Procedure
To ensure the quality and reliability of restoring the operational capability of AEC UPS IST3 series equipment, we follow a clearly structured repair procedure:
- Initial diagnostics: checking the operation of all UPS functional units, reading event logs, and assessing component wear.
- Detailed report: providing conclusions regarding the technical condition of the device, repair costs, and the need to replace components.
- Spare parts supply: prompt use of available components from stock or official ordering of spare parts if they are unavailable.
- Equipment cleaning: comprehensive cleaning of the device to remove dust, oxidation, and other contaminants that may affect thermal performance and reliability.
- Repair work: replacement of worn components, repair of power modules, control boards, fans, relays, etc.
- Commissioning: starting the device in operational mode, configuring parameters according to the customer’s technical specifications.
- Final testing: multi-level testing of the UPS under load, simulation of emergency modes, verification of runtime.
- Documentation: signing of the work completion report, provision of recommendations for further operation.
In cases of complex repairs (recovery from overheating, short circuits, deep battery discharge, or degradation of the power section), work is performed at the certified service center of Total-Energo LLC.
Battery replacement
We pay special attention to the condition of the battery pack of IST3 uninterruptible power supplies. Depending on the condition of the batteries, we offer the following services:
- Replacement of batteries with original or certified compatible AGM or GEL models;
- Upgrading the battery pack to
UPS capacity; - Switching to LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries with modification of the charging logic and control system;
Advantages of using LiFePO4 over lead-acid AGM/GEL batteries:
- 2–3 times longer service life (up to 10–12 years);
- Increased depth of discharge without loss of capacity;
- Lighter weight and more compact design for the same capacity;
- Higher efficiency during charging and discharging;
- Extended operating temperature ranges;
- Protection against overheating, overcharging, and short circuits thanks to the built-in BMS;
