Total-Energo LLC provides a professional configuration of integration of Garmin multifunction display (MFD) with Victron Energy power supply systems via NMEA 2000 network. This allows you to display data on the status of the battery, inverter, PV generation, load and SOC directly on Garmin GPSMAP series navigation displays, which increases crew awareness and reduces the number of separate screens on board.
What is included in commissioning
1. System and equipment audit
- Verify compatibility of Garmin GPSMAP MFD with NMEA 2000
- Assess the presence of a Victron controller: Cerbo GX, Venus GX or Color Control GX
- Presence of a Victron VE.Can ↔ NMEA 2000 adapter (or compatible cable)
- Analysis of the existing NMEA network: backbone, terminators, T-connectors
2. Connecting the Victron system to NMEA 2000
- Physically connecting the GX device to the ship's NMEA 2000 network
- Assigning PGN (Parameter Group Number) for basic parameters
- Verifying device detection in the Garmin menu: Device List / Network Devices
3. Configuring data display on the Garmin MFD
- Displaying SOC, voltage, current, charge/discharge, PV, load
- Adding data fields to maps, graphs or individual pages
- Optimizing the interface appearance for navigation conditions
4. Testing and checking synchronization
- Simulation of SOC change, inverter switching on, PV power change
- Analysis of update rate and communication stability
- Control of correct PGN transmission in the Garmin network
5. User or crew training
- Explanation of data logic: SOC, battery, PV, inverter, load
- Training to work with the Garmin interface: creating pages, widgets
- Transfer of wiring diagrams, documentation, VRM recommendations
