Total-Energo LLC performs professional setup of an energy storage system (ESS) based on the Victron Energy Quattro inverter in single-phase configuration. Such a system gives the user full control over consumption, generation, storage and backup power, taking into account tariffs and optimization of energy use from PV.
What does ESS commissioning include
1. Checking equipment compatibility
- Configuration analysis: Quattro → AC Loads / Grid / Generator
- Checking the presence of Cerbo GX or Color Control GX
- Evaluation of connection: VE.Bus, DC cables, CAN (for BMS)
- Presence and correct connection of grid meter (ET112, EM24, EM540, Carlo Gavazzi)
2. Activating ESS mode
- Enabling ESS via Settings → ESS on Cerbo GX
- Selecting the operating mode: Self-consumption only, Optimized, Keep Batteries Charged
- Setting export restrictions: No feed-in or Limited feed-in
3. Charging and discharging parameters
- Setting SOC limits (e.g. 20% – 95%)
- Limiting charge/discharge currents according to the type of battery or BMS
- Activating temperature charge
- Configuring the logic of working with the generator, if present
4. Configuring interaction with PV
- Integration with Victron MPPT controllers or external PV inverters (via AC input)
- Priority distribution: load → battery charge → export
- Generation control, efficiency tracking, autonomous operation during the day
5. Connection to the monitoring system
- Connection to the VRM portal: SOC, PV, import/export, load
- Settings: event logging, email notifications, graphs
- Remote access for the user or support service
6. Testing ESS modes
- Scenario: PV charge → load power → night discharge
- Testing backup power in case of grid failure
- Checking switching between sources: grid → battery → generator
7. Customer briefing
- Training on working with Cerbo GX, VRM
- Recommendations on maintenance, seasonal operation, backup
- Transfer of settings, documentation, technical report
