The Victron Energy MultiPlus 12/2k/100-32 hybrid inverter is a next-generation, multifunctional 2 kW inverter that combines a high-performance pure sine wave inverter, a powerful charger with adaptive technology, and an ultra-fast 32 A automatic transfer switch. Thanks to proprietary PowerAssist and PowerControl technologies, it effectively optimizes and boosts grid or generator power, eliminating the risk of overloading the power source.
This model is ideally suited for off-grid and backup power systems, campervans, motorhomes, marine vessels and yachts, commercial facilities, and home uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
The MultiPlus serves as an excellent foundation for a hybrid solar power system, ensuring seamless integration between the grid, generator, batteries, and solar panels (via an external MPPT solar charge controller). Thanks to the VE.Bus interface, the MultiPlus supports parallel connection (up to 6 units per phase) and three-phase configurations, allowing for easy system scalability as load requirements grow.
Key advantages of the MultiPlus 12/2k/100-32 inverter
-
Inverter, 100A charger, and 32A transfer switch in a single unit – a comprehensive, reliable solution for UPS systems and solar power installations.
-
True 2000W output power (4000W peak) – 2000W continuous output at 25°C with a pure sine wave and high surge capability, ensuring reliable startup for power tools, pumps, and appliances with high inrush currents.
-
PowerAssist function – Instantaneous power boost for a generator or weak shore/grid connection by supplementing with battery energy during peak loads.
-
PowerControl function – intelligent limitation of consumption from an external source, with automatic redirection of surplus power to battery charging.
-
Adaptive 4-stage 100 A charger – fast and safe charging for all battery types: lithium (LiFePO4), AGM, GEL, and flooded lead-acid, plus an additional 1 A output for trickle-charging the starter battery.
-
VE.Bus for parallel and three-phase operation – allows paralleling up to 6 units for increased power output or configuration into a 400 V three-phase system.
-
Multifunctional programmable relay – automatic generator start/stop, alarm signaling, or priority load shedding.
-
Energy-saving Search Mode – reduces no-load power consumption by ~70% (only 3 W instead of 11 W in standard idle mode).
-
Remote monitoring via the VRM portal – full remote access, analytics, and system control from a computer or smartphone.
Technical features
PowerAssist – boosting grid or generator power
- This function allows the MultiPlus to operate synchronously with an external power source (grid or generator). If the load exceeds the source's power limit, the inverter instantly supplements the required energy from the battery. This is essential for campers, yachts, workshops, and private homes with limited grid power capacity.
PowerControl – Intelligent power limit management
- The maximum current draw from the grid or generator is set via the Digital Multi Control panel or the VRM/VictronConnect interface. The MultiPlus continuously monitors other loads and dynamically allocates only the remaining available power to battery charging, preventing circuit breakers from tripping and the generator from overloading.
Powerful charger (100 A) with a dedicated output for the starter battery (1 A)
- Microprocessor-controlled 4-stage adaptive charging algorithm...and (Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage) automatically adjusts parameters based on the battery's current state. Storage Mode prevents accelerated plate corrosion and electrolyte boil-off, significantly extending battery lifespan. A dedicated 1 A trickle-charge output keeps the starter battery of a vehicle or generator ready for use at all times.
High start-up power (up to 4000 W)
- The inverter is designed to handle high start-up loads, which is critical for the smooth starting of refrigerators, pumps, heavy-duty power tools, and switching power supplies for LED lighting and halogen lamps.
VE.Bus for paralleling up to 6 units or configuring a three-phase system
- The MultiPlus offers complete flexibility for power scaling. You can connect up to 6 inverters in parallel or configure the system to power three-phase loads (380/400 V), meeting the needs of both private households and industrial facilities.
Monitoring, configuration, and remote control
- Supports quick setup via built-in DIP switches (charge voltage and Search Mode), fine-tuned programming via VE-Config/MK3-USB, and wireless connectivity using the VE.Bus Smart Dongle adapter. Connecting GX devices (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX) provides free access to the VRM (Victron Remote Management) portal for real-time monitoring and diagnostics.
Use cases
• Off-grid and hybrid solar power systems – stable power supply for residential and commercial properties using SmartSolar/BlueSolar MPPT solar controllers; compatible with Net Billing tariffs.
• Campers, motorhomes, and caravans – reliable power supply while traveling; seamless operation of appliances when connected to limited campsite power or a generator.
• Yachts, boats, and marine vessels – powering onboard navigation, climate control systems, and equipment in harsh operating conditions.
• Backup power for homes (UPS) – instant automatic switch to battery power during a blackout (less than 20 ms), automatic generator startup, and smartphone notifications.
• Commercial and industrial facilities – protection for critical equipment, server hardware, and three-phase machinery.
Complies with the ECE R10-5 electromagnetic compatibility standard (Automotive Directive)
ECE R10-5 is a rigorous European automotive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard, mandatory for electronic equipment installed in vehicles. It regulates electromagnetic emission limits and equipment immunity to external interference.
What does the ECE R10-5 certificate mean for Victron Energy MultiPlus inverters?
Low level of electromagnetic emissions
– The inverter does not generate high-frequency interference, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of sensitive onboard radio communications, GPS navigation, communication systems, multimedia, and satellite terminals.
High resistance to electromagnetic interference
– The device maintains stability even under challenging operating conditions involving strong electromagnetic fields, voltage fluctuations, or impulse interference from the vehicle's engine or generator.
Safe integration into vehicles
– Compliance with UN Economic Commission for Europe regulations confirms there is no risk of malfunction for the vehicle's electronic control units (ECUs, ABS/ESP safety systems).
Guaranteed safety and reliability
– The ECE R10-5 certificate officially confirms successful completion of the full testing cycle in accordance with the highest international standards.
