The MultiPlus 12/1200/50-16 hybrid inverter – is a multifunctional inverter that combines a sine wave inverter, a charger, and an automatic transfer switch. Thanks to the PowerAssist and PowerControl functions, it allows you to increase the power of the grid or generator without causing overloads.
This model is designed for off-grid and backup power systems, campers, marine vessels, small commercial facilities, and home power systems. It is the best choice for a solar power plant, as it features the ability to combine energy from the grid/generator, battery, and solar panels via an external MPPT controller.
Thanks to VE.Bus, the MultiPlus can operate in parallel mode and in a three-phase system, making it ideal for expandable power grids.
Key Benefits of the MultiPlus Inverter
-
Inverter, charger, and power switch in a single unit – the ideal solution for uninterruptible power supply systems and solar power plants.
-
1200 VA (1000 W) output power – stable power supply for sensitive devices.
-
PowerAssist function – supports weak grids or generators using batteries.
-
PowerControl function – power management with a limited power source.
-
Adaptive 4-stage charging algorithm – extends the service life of all battery types, from high-capacity LiFePO4 lithium batteries to traditional lead-acid AGM/GEL and carbon batteries.
-
VE.Bus for parallel or three-phase operation – scales the system to up to 6 devices per phase as needed.
-
Programmable relay – for emergency alerts or automation (e.g., generator start).
-
Power-saving mode (Search Mode) – reduces power consumption in idle mode, up to 10 times less consumption compared to similar products!
-
Remote monitoring via the VRM portal – control from anywhere in the world.
Technical Features
PowerAssist – boosting grid or generator power
- This feature allows the MultiPlus to work in conjunction with an external power source (such as the grid or a generator). If the connected source cannot provide sufficient power for the load, the inverter automatically compensates for the shortfall using the batteries. This is particularly important for campers, yachts, and remote homes where generator or grid power is limited.
PowerControl – intelligent power management
- Using the Digital Multi Control panel or the VRM interface, you can set the maximum power draw from the generator or grid. The MultiPlus will monitor other loads (such as an air conditioner or water heater) and automatically distribute power to prevent overloads.
Intelligent charger (50 A)
- An adaptive 4-stage charging algorithm ensures fast and safe battery charging by adjusting the voltage to the battery’s condition. It also supports Storage Mode, which prevents deep discharge and extends battery life.
VE.Bus for connecting up to 6 devices in parallel or in a three-phase system
- The MultiPlus supports flexible power scaling, allowing multiple units to be connected in parallel or in a three-phase configuration. This ensures a stable power supply even for large homes or businesses.
Display and Remote Control
- The MultiPlus supports remote control and monitoring via the VictronConnect App, the VRM portal, or GX devices (Cerbo GX, Color Control GX). This allows you to view data on battery status, voltage, and power, and configure settings from anywhere in the world.
Use Cases
• Off-grid power systems – stable power supply in solar or hybrid systems. Works with the “green” tariff and Net.Billing.
• Camping, caravans, motorhomes – ensuring reliable power on the road and during leisure time.
• Marine vessels and yachts – power for navigation equipment and electronics; the device’s reliable circuitry allows it to operate in challenging conditions.
• Home backup power – automatic switch to battery power during a power outage, start/stop generator control, and notifications sent to your phone about any events when a GX panel is added.
• Industrial power systems – stable voltage for critical devices, including three-phase ones.
Complies with the ECE R10-5 electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard
ECE R10-5 is an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard applicable to electronic equipment used in vehicles. It regulates requirements for electromagnetic interference emissions and immunity to external electromagnetic influences.
What does the ECE R10-5 certification mean for Victron Energy inverters?
Low level of electromagnetic emissions
– The inverters do not generate radio frequency interference that could affect radio communications, GPS, mobile networks, or other electronic systems in a car, yacht, or industrial equipment.
High resistance to electromagnetic interference
– The inverters operate reliably even under challenging conditions where sudden voltage fluctuations or strong electromagnetic fields may occur (e.g., in trucks, buses, and heavy equipment).
Safe integration into transportation systems
– Complies with the requirements of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), allowing the inverters to be used in cars, campers, marine vessels, and other vehicles without the risk of negatively affecting the host device’s electronic systems or vehicle safety systems such as ABS.
Quality assurance and compliance with international standards
– ECE R10-5 compliance confirms that Victron Energy products have undergone rigorous testing and meet international safety requirements for use in transportation.
What does this mean for users of Inverter Smart inverters?
-
Legal use in vehicles without the need for additional certification.
-
Compatibility with other electronic systems – the inverter does not interfere with radio, navigation, autopilot, GPS, or other electrical devices.
-
Stable operation in challenging conditions – marine vessels, RVs, commercial vehicles, and special-purpose equipment.
-
Protection against electromagnetic interference – the inverter does not fail during sudden voltage fluctuations.
Communication interfaces
-
VE.Bus – the ability to integrate Victron Energy products and configure data exchange with batteries from Pylontech, Sacred Sun, Sunlight, and dozens of other manufacturers.
-
Programmable relay – any automation is also possible, such as controlling a generator based on the state of charge of the batteries.
-
Optional VE.Bus Smart dongle – adds Bluetooth communication with the ability to perform fine-tuning of the device.
-
Optional VE.Bus to USB cable – for programming from a computer.
