Legrand TRIMOD HE — is a three-phase modular online UPS with high efficiency (High Efficiency), which provides double energy conversion (VFI-SS-111) and N+X redundancy. The system is built on the principle of hot-swappable power modules with a capacity of 5 or 10 kVA, which allows scaling up to 60 kVA. TRIMOD HE is installed in critical infrastructures: data centers, banking institutions, telecommunications nodes and production facilities. To maintain stable operation and prevent accidents, regular technical inspection of each functional component is necessary, especially in modular systems.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Identification of active and standby power modules in TRIMOD HE.
- Assessment of the physical condition of the housing, the condition of the ventilation ducts, switching and chassis.
- Checking the presence of backup grounding, correct connections and compliance with installation conditions.
- Inspection of the operating environment: presence of dust, elevated temperature, installation density.
Electrical tests
- Control of input parameters: voltage, frequency, phase symmetry.
- Measurement of output voltage: stability, harmonics, waveform.
- Evaluation of system performance under load (in different modes).
- Measurement of THDi/THDu, power factor, real efficiency.
Inverter/rectifier/bypass test
- Functional test of each power module: inverter and rectifier.
- Checking the performance of the static bypass: switching speed, presence of failures.
- Evaluation of synchronization between modules, correctness of load distribution.
- Reading event logs: alarms, failures, mode switching.
Battery (battery system)
- Inspection of battery cabinets or connected external batteries: connection, temperature, ventilation.
- Measurement of voltage of each unit, charging/discharging currents, evaluation of internal resistance.
- Checking charging modes (Float, Boost), balance status between battery sections.
- Possibility of conducting an autonomous operation test (upon agreement).
Cooling
- Checking the operation of fans in each module: speed, noise, power control.
- Evaluating temperatures on power boards and in module compartments under load.
- Inspection of ventilation holes and filters, contamination level.
Communications / monitoring
- Testing the control display: indication, access to parameters, alarm notifications.
- Checking interfaces: SNMP, RS-485, Modbus TCP/RTU, Dry Contact (if available).
- Checking integration with BMS or SCADA (if connected).
Technical report
- Detailed documentation of test results for modules, batteries, cooling, bypass and logs.
- Identification of worn or failed components, modules with degraded performance.
- Recommendations for replacement, service or system firmware/configuration update.
When diagnostics are needed
- Every year — in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and operating conditions.
- After replacing one or more modules, changing the configuration or transferring to standby.
- In case of detecting failures, error messages or changes in system behavior.
