Socomec NETYS PR Rack/Tower — is a single-phase double-conversion uninterruptible power supply system (online topology), designed to protect critical loads: servers, network equipment, video surveillance systems, medical devices and ACS. Thanks to the universal form factor (rack or tower mounting), the ability to connect external battery modules and a wide range of communication interfaces, this series is one of the most flexible in the segment of small and medium IT systems. Diagnostics covers all electrical and functional subsystems: inverter, battery, cooling, bypass, display, communication ports.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- External inspection of the housing, indicators, display, ventilation holes, battery compartment.
- Configuration fixation: power, installation type (rack/tower), presence of external battery units.
- Checking operating conditions: microclimate, ventilation, placement, absence of dust.
- Analysis of electrical installation: correct connection of phases, presence of grounding, status of automatic protections.
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input voltage, frequency, analysis of power supply stability.
- Output voltage check: accuracy, waveform (pure sine wave), frequency stability.
- Switching testing: network → inverter, inverter → bypass, emergency switching.
- Analysis of response to overloads, voltage surges, short-term failures.
Inverter / bypass check
- Inverter stability test: voltage, current, load, absence of parasitic harmonics.
- Checking the operation of the built-in bypass: automatic switching, synchronization with the network, protection against accidents.
- Event log analysis: switching, errors, alarms.
Battery system
- Inspection of the internal/external battery pack: connections, terminals, ventilation, physical condition.
- Measurement of the voltage of each battery (or section) for imbalance.
- Charger check: current, voltage, Float/Boost mode.
- Standalone test: starting power from the battery, analysis of the stability of output parameters under load.
Cooling
- Checking the operation of fans: speed, noise, temperature regulation.
- Evaluating the temperature regime of the inverter, battery and other key components.
- Inspection and cleaning of ventilation holes, filters (if necessary).
Communications / monitoring
- Evaluating the display operation: menu accessibility, viewing the event log, reading errors.
- Testing interfaces: USB, RS-232, SNMP card (if installed), dry contacts, ability to connect to SCADA/BMS.
- Checking communication with monitoring software (ViewPower or other): reading parameters, correctness of alarms.
Technical report
- Formation of a detailed technical report on all nodes and modes.
- Fixation of critical deviations: battery degradation, bypass failures, overheating, load problems.
- Providing recommendations for further actions: battery replacement, cleaning, firmware update, etc.
When diagnostics are required
- Annually, as part of scheduled maintenance.
- After connecting a new load, replacing the battery or changing the configuration.
- In the event of alarms, reduced battery life, failures in switching modes.
- After a long downtime or before putting into critical operation.
