Powercom VRT – Vanguard Rack — are single-phase online UPSs in 19” design for installation in a server rack. The devices of this series are designed to protect critical IT equipment, video surveillance systems, telecommunications and industrial automation. Thanks to the double conversion technology (VFI), a stable output voltage is ensured regardless of input fluctuations. The presence of an LCD display, SNMP, USB and RS-232 provides convenient control. Scheduled diagnostics allow you to timely detect signs of element degradation and maintain continuous load operation.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Visual inspection of the front panel, ventilation holes, condition of terminals and fixing elements in the rack.
- Assessment of operating conditions: temperature, dust, vibrations, ventilation in the rack.
- Checking the load connection, power supply network, grounding.
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input parameters: voltage, frequency, stability.
- Analysis of output parameters: voltage, frequency, waveform.
- Checking operation under load, incl. overload test.
- Response to input voltage changes, surges, network failure.
Inverter / bypass / charge
- Inverter operation control: output voltage accuracy, presence of harmonics.
- Static bypass test: switching without delays, response to accidents.
- Analysis of charging module operation: current, stability, compliance with battery mode.
- Checking event logs: alarm notifications, switching history.
Battery (battery system)
- Visual inspection of the battery pack or external battery: connection, temperature, condition of the cases.
- Measurement of the voltage of each battery, analysis of imbalances.
- Testing of autonomous operation (discharge under load).
- Evaluation of the performance of the charge and discharge recovery circuit.
Cooling
- Checking the operation of the fans in the UPS case: noise, speed, efficiency.
- Measuring the temperature of internal components under load.
- Inspection of ventilation ducts for contamination or blockage.
Communications / monitoring
- LCD display functionality: displaying parameters, navigation, errors.
- Testing USB, RS-232, SNMP interfaces: reading parameters, transmitting alarm signals.
- Checking compatibility with centralized monitoring systems (BMS, NMS).
Technical report
- Fixing diagnostic results: voltages, autonomy time, temperature, events.
- Identified risks or signs of component wear.
- Recommendations for eliminating identified problems or scheduled maintenance.
When diagnostics are needed
- Scheduled — once every 12 months or according to the manufacturer's regulations.
- After accidents, bypass operation or abnormal operating modes.
- After replacing batteries or updating software/firmware.
