Powercom NXT – Next — is a line of three-phase online UPS (VFI-SS-111) of medium and high class, designed to protect industrial, IT, banking and telecommunications equipment. Devices of this series support parallel operation, have a convenient color display, advanced monitoring interfaces (SNMP, Modbus, USB, RS-232) and an intelligent charge management system. Regular diagnostics help prevent power system failures, ensure reliable operation of critical loads, and preserve battery life.
What diagnostics include
Inspection/audit
- Inspection of the housing, indicators, display, ventilation elements, and power terminals.
- Assessment of operating conditions: humidity, temperature, free access to the ventilation system.
- Checking the connection status: input/output, grounding, battery cabinets, parallel connections (if any).
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input voltage and frequency on each phase, check for symmetry and stability.
- Evaluation of output parameters: voltage, frequency, accuracy of maintaining phase balance.
- Load testing: response to changes in consumption, overload protection.
- Checking the dynamic response to input disturbances and transitions between modes.
Inverter / bypass / charge
- Testing the inverter operation: voltage stability, no distortion, phase synchronization.
- Functional check of static and service bypass: switching, no delays or failures.
- Evaluation of the charger operation: voltage, current, charge mode (Float/Boost), compliance with battery settings.
- Analysis of event logs, warnings, switching history.
Battery (battery system)
- Inspection of battery cabinets: condition of connections, absence of overheating, traces of oxidation or mechanical damage.
- Measurement of voltage on each block or battery modules.
- Assessment of charge uniformity, response time to load in offline mode.
- Control of internal resistance of batteries (if provided by the design).
Cooling
- Testing of fan operation under different loads: speed, noise, speed stability.
- Assessment of temperature of power components: inverter, rectifier, battery modules.
- Checking ventilation ducts: cleanliness, presence of air flow, filters (if available).
Communications / monitoring
- Testing of color display: accuracy of indicators, status display, access to logs.
- Checking USB, RS-232, SNMP, Modbus interfaces — reading parameters, data exchange with software.
- Analysis of interaction with remote dispatch systems (if integrated).
Technical report
- Document with measured values of all parameters: voltage, frequency, charge, temperature.
- Report on detected faults, warnings or potential risk areas.
- Recommendations for routine maintenance, updating settings or replacing components.
When diagnostics are required
- At least once a year — to ensure stable operation and assessment of the battery life.
- After failures, errors on the display or switching to bypass without an obvious reason.
- Before commissioning after a long downtime or storage.
- After connecting new battery cabinets or changing the load.
