The KStar UC series UPSs are single-phase or three-phase online UPSs with double energy conversion, designed to protect critical equipment in IT infrastructure, office complexes, telecommunications hubs, and medical institutions. Due to the stable output signal, high efficiency and the ability to work with external battery modules, UC models are used in systems where the continuity of power supply is critical.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Visual inspection of the housing, display, controls, ventilation grilles and indicators.
- Assessment of operating conditions: temperature, humidity, ventilation, absence of dust and corrosion.
- Checking the correctness of the phase connection, grounding, condition of terminals and cable entries.
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input voltage and frequency parameters (on all phases — if available).
- Checking the stability of the output voltage and frequency under load and without it.
- Testing the automatic switching between the grid, inverter and bypass.
- Checking the response to overloads, short-term surges and input voltage drops.
Inverter / bypass test
- Evaluation of the inverter's operation under load: stability, signal shape, absence of failures.
- Checking manual and automatic bypass: switching, response time, presence of errors.
- Testing the synchronization of the inverter with the grid and maintaining the phase sequence.
Battery (battery system)
- Inspection of connected battery modules or external batteries: terminals, temperature conditions, ventilation.
- Measurement of the voltage on each battery (if accessible).
- Evaluation of the autonomous operation time, charge and discharge currents, behavior when switching to batteries.
- Testing the charger operation, identifying possible deviations in the charging algorithms.
Cooling
- Checking the cooling efficiency: fan operation, noise, compliance with the load.
- Temperature control of key components (inverter, rectifier, charger).
- Detection of overheating, contamination or reduced heat transfer efficiency.
Communications / monitoring
- Testing the operation of SNMP, USB, RS-232 interfaces, checking the connection to the monitoring network (if available).
- Analysis of system logs: events, warnings, errors, switching history and incidents.
- Assessment of interaction with external monitoring software or SCADA systems (if used).
Technical report
- Preparation of a detailed inspection report with conclusions for each system component.
- Identification of malfunctions or elements requiring replacement (batteries, fans, inverter unit, etc.).
- Assessment of the general condition of the equipment, recommendations for preventive work or modernization.
When diagnostics are required
- Regular maintenance at least once a year.
- User complaints about power outages or reduced battery life.
- Appearance of error messages on the display or in logs.
- After installing a new battery unit or connecting an additional load.
- Before starting up after a long downtime.
