The KStar UB series UPSs belong to the line of online UPSs with double conversion power, designed to protect critical equipment in IT infrastructure, communication systems, banking, healthcare and industry. These UPSs provide stable power supply with high-precision voltage regulation, have advanced monitoring capabilities and support work with external batteries.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Visual assessment of the condition of the housing, thermal connections, interface ports and ventilation holes.
- Analysis of the installation environment: temperature regime, dust level, compliance of operating conditions with the manufacturer's technical requirements.
- Checking the compliance of the phase, neutral and ground connections.
Electrical tests
- Control of input voltage and frequency parameters.
- Measurement of voltage, frequency and stability at the output.
- Checking the switching time between the network, inverter and bypass.
- Testing the response to overloads and short-term voltage surges.
Inverter / bypass test
- Testing the inverter under load and in idle mode.
- Checking automatic and manual bypass: correct switching, presence of losses or anomalies.
- Checking the synchronization of the inverter with the network.
Battery (battery system)
- Checking the condition of external battery cabinets: connection, temperature, ventilation.
- Measuring the voltage at the terminals of each battery (in case of access).
- Estimating the battery capacity using a full or partial discharge test (as agreed with the client).
- Monitoring the backup power time and compliance with the specified parameters.
Cooling
- Checking the operation of all fans: start-up, noise, air flow.
- Temperature control of power modules and battery compartment.
- Detection of overheating, contamination or reduced heat transfer efficiency.
Communications / monitoring
- Testing the functionality of SNMP cards or USB/RS-232 interfaces.
- Assessing access to event logs and emergency logs.
- Checking correct interaction with monitoring software (if applicable).
Technical report
- Forming a detailed report with conclusions for each test.
- Providing recommendations for replacing batteries, fans or repairing the inverter module (if necessary).
- Assessing the general technical condition of the UPS with a conclusion on suitability for further operation.
When diagnostics are required
- Periodic preventive maintenance according to the operating schedule (recommended at least once a year).
- Load power failures or frequent switching to bypass.
- Reduction of battery backup time.
- Errors on the display or in event logs.
- After an emergency shutdown or voltage surges in the network.
