Eaton 93PM G2 — is a modern three-phase double-conversion uninterruptible power supply system designed for critical infrastructure: data centers, medical institutions, financial centers, industrial and energy facilities. The second generation model (G2) is characterized by high energy efficiency (up to 97.5% in Double Conversion mode), modular architecture, scalability and an advanced management interface. Diagnostics of this series involves a comprehensive check not only of electronics and power modules, but also of cooling systems, communications, and interaction with external BMS/DCIM platforms.
What diagnostics include
Inspection/audit
- Assessment of the external condition of the UPS and individual modules: housing, access panels, display, indication.
- Checking the correctness of installation, connection of power terminals and signal lines, room ventilation.
- Review of operating conditions: ambient temperature, cleanliness, presence of ventilation and dust protection.
Electrical tests
- Control of input voltage parameters, phase symmetry, power quality.
- Analysis of output voltage when operating through an inverter: stability, harmonic level, compliance with standards VFI-SS-111.
- Checking the system operation during intentional power outage (test of switching to batteries and back).
- Simulation of operation under different loads: overload, uneven distribution of phases.
Inverter / bypass / charge
- Separate check of each power module: voltage, temperature, activity, event log.
- Testing of static bypass: thyristor health, switching logic, emergency response.
- Evaluation of charging module operation: current, mode (boost/float), compliance with battery type.
- Reading and analysis of error and event history via Eaton touch controller (PXC or graphic panel).
Battery (battery system)
- Checking the battery status: voltage, balancing, visual inspection, connections, temperature sensors.
- Battery load test or controlled switch to autonomous mode.
- SOH/SOC assessment via external systems or battery monitoring (if available).
- Recommendations for battery replacement, recharging or reconnection if imbalances are detected.
Cooling
- Check operation of all fans: speed, noise, alarms, temperature sensors.
- Evaluation of temperatures of power modules, connections, inverter zones, rectifiers.
- Inspection and cleaning of filters (if provided by design), check airflow.
Communications / monitoring
- Check LCD/touch display: read parameters, view logs, control.
- Testing SNMP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Web server, dry contact — connection to DCIM or BMS systems.
- Analysis of the logic of transmitting alarm signals, checking external control signals (EPO, generator mode).
- Fixation of incorrect or unstable communication channels and restoration of operability.
Technical report
- Formation of a complete technical report from all nodes: modules, interfaces, batteries, bypass, inverter.
- Detailed list of recommendations: battery replacement terms, maintenance schedule, need for software updates.
- Assessment of the general condition of the system and the remaining resource of components.
When diagnostics are required
- At least once a year or according to the maintenance schedule recommended by the manufacturer.
- After switching to emergency mode, failure of one of power modules or error messages.
- Before changes in load, software update or connection to a new control system.
- In case of reduced autonomy or atypical behavior when testing the bypass or batteries.
