AEG Protect C — is a single-phase online double-conversion UPS (VFI-SS-111) designed to protect office and industrial IT infrastructure, servers, process control systems, laboratory and medical equipment. Protect C series UPSs are available in various power ranges (from 1 to 10 kVA), support integration with battery cabinets to extend battery life, have a display, USB/RS-232 interfaces and optional SNMP cards. Diagnostics of this series allows you to assess the actual condition of the inverter, battery system and power control elements.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Visual inspection of the housing, ventilation holes, condition of terminals and cable connections.
- Checking operating conditions: temperature, access to the UPS, location and ventilation.
- Assessing the quality of installation and connection of the load, battery and grounding.
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input parameters: voltage, frequency, presence of distortions or jumps.
- Checking the output voltage: stability, compliance with the nominal value, absence of harmonics.
- Analysis of operation under load: response to changes in consumption, compliance with frequency and shape signal.
Inverter / bypass / charge
- Inverter check: output voltage stability, correct operation under load.
- Functional check of static bypass: switching in emergency and service mode.
- Charging module testing: current, voltage, Float/Boost mode, battery charge stability.
- Analysis of event logs, emergency switching, overloads.
Battery (battery system)
- Battery condition assessment: visual inspection, checking connections, terminals, cables.
- Measurement of voltage on each battery block, charge level, load response time.
- Voltage uniformity control, analysis of charge/discharge current.
- Simulation capability. short-term transition to autonomous mode (upon agreement).
Cooling
- Checking fans: speed, noise, reaction to temperature increase.
- Monitoring the temperature of the power elements of the inverter, charging module.
- Inspection of ventilation holes, degree of contamination of air ducts.
Communications / monitoring
- Checking the LCD display: accuracy of indication, settings menu, event logs.
- Testing USB/RS-232 interfaces, connection to proprietary software (for example, AEG UPS Tools).
- Checking the SNMP card (if available): IP connection, reading parameters, reaction to commands.
Technical report
- Generation of a full report with all measured parameters: input/output, battery, cooling, events.
- Conclusions on the status of the main components, identification of critical deviations or errors.
- Recommendations for further maintenance: battery replacement, cleaning, software update.
