AEG Protect 4 — is a series of single-phase and three-phase double-conversion UPSs (VFI-SS-111), focused on protecting sensitive equipment in commercial, medical, telecommunications and industrial sectors. Due to the high stability of output parameters, compact design and reliable architecture, these UPSs are used for stable power supply of servers, automation, and control and measurement equipment. For guaranteed operation, regular diagnostics of electrical components, batteries and control systems are recommended.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- Checking the condition of the housing, ventilation system, cable connections, grounding.
- Assessment of operating conditions: dustiness, temperature, humidity, access to equipment.
- Inspection of terminals, connections to the load, installation (standing/rack version).
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input voltage, frequency, phase symmetry (for three-phase models).
- Output voltage analysis: stability, compliance with standards, presence of harmonics.
- Assessment of response to load change, short-term switchover test to inverter/bypass.
- Control Efficiency, power factor, distortion level (THDi, THDu).
Inverter / rectifier / bypass test
- Inverter voltage and current test in different operating modes.
- Evaluation of rectifier and charger performance.
- Testing switching to static bypass and returning to the main mode.
- Analysis of event logs, alarm logs, switching history.
Battery (battery system)
- Inspection of battery connections and condition (internal or external cabinets).
- Measurement of voltage on blocks, charge/discharge currents, internal resistance.
- Control of charger operation, Float/Boost modes.
- Possibility of partial test of autonomous power supply (upon agreement with by the customer).
Cooling
- Fan testing: noise, speed, performance.
- Evaluation of temperature sensors, overheating of power elements.
- Inspection of air ducts and filters, need for cleaning.
Communications / monitoring
- Checking the display, correctness of parameter display, access to logs.
- Testing communication ports: USB, RS-232/RS-485, SNMP, Modbus (optional).
- Integration control with external monitoring or alarm systems.
Technical report
- Generation of a report with all measurements, event logs, technical conclusions.
- Identification of critical deviations, battery degradation, failures in the operation of nodes.
- Service recommendations: battery replacement, prevention, firmware update (if necessary).
When diagnostics are needed
- At least once a year — according to the maintenance regulations.
- After reports of failures, accidents, unstable operation or switching to bypass.
- After replacing the battery or electronic modules.
- Before starting after a long downtime or storage.
