AEC IST3 — is a series of three-phase online UPS with double conversion (VFI) power supply, designed for uninterrupted power supply of critical loads. High efficiency, support for parallel operation of up to 8 devices, extensive monitoring capabilities and adaptability to various types of batteries make IST3 a universal solution for data centers, industrial facilities, medical institutions and energy infrastructure. To ensure stable operation, regular professional diagnostics of all main system components are necessary.
What diagnostics include
Inspection / audit
- External inspection of the housing, display, controls and indicators for damage or contamination.
- Checking the connection of power cables, batteries, grounding and compliance of installation with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Assessment of operating conditions: temperature, humidity, ventilation availability, dust protection.
Electrical tests
- Measurement of input voltage for each phase, frequency, symmetry assessment.
- Checking output voltage and frequency in all modes: mains power, inverter, bypass.
- Testing of response to overload, load surges, short-term power outages.
- Analysis of sinusoidal signal distortion (THD), stability of output parameters.
Inverter / bypass / charge
- Checking the health of the inverter part: stability, temperature, voltage and frequency.
- Testing the automatic and service bypass: correct switching, synchronization, response time.
- Evaluating the charger's operation: current, voltage, compliance of parameters with the selected battery type.
- Reading logs, analyzing errors and warnings, monitoring the number of emergency mode activations.
Battery (battery system)
- Inspection of the battery cabinets: mechanical integrity, connection, ventilation.
- Measurement of voltage on each battery section or module, detection of weakened elements.
- Estimation of backup power time or partial discharge test (if load allows).
- Checking battery temperature, charge balance, fuse and cable condition.
Cooling
- Checking fan performance, noise level, absence of vibrations and overload.
- Measuring the temperature of the main power components under load.
- Inspection of ventilation ducts for contamination or blockage of air flow.
Communications / monitoring
- Checking display functionality: access to menus, display of parameters, event history.
- Testing SNMP, USB, RS-232, dry contacts, Ethernet — depending on the configuration.
- Assessment of communication with software for monitoring or integration into BMS/SCADA systems.
Technical report
- Preparation of a full report with recording of test results, parameters, detected deviations.
- Identification of problems in operation or signals of reduced system efficiency.
- Recommendations for replacing elements, routine maintenance or changing settings.
When diagnostics are needed
- Regularly — at least once every 12 months to ensure system reliability.
- After accidents, bypass operation or inverter part errors.
- Before changing the load configuration or updating the battery system.
- After a long downtime or when the UPS operates unstable.
