BMV-712 Smart — is the flagship battery monitor from Victron Energy with built-in Bluetooth, midpoint voltage monitoring, temperature monitoring (optional), and the ability to control a fuel generator.
Fully compatible with all battery types: AGM, GEL, LiFePO4, and also easily integrates into systems with VictronConnect, GX devices or works autonomously.

Midpoint Voltage Monitoring
Midpoint Monitoring — this is the most reliable way to check the balancing of the battery bank.
BMV-712 Smart automatically signals in case of:
- Bank imbalance (e.g. 12+12 V → 24 V)
- Defect of one of the cells
- Danger of overheating or undercharging of sections
- This is indispensable for 24/48 V and LiFePO4 systems, where every cell counts.
Automatic generator control
BMV-712 Smart has an intelligent relay output that:
- Turns on the generator when the battery charge drops below a set level (e.g. SoC < 50%)
- Turns off the generator when the battery reaches a set charge level (e.g. SoC > 95%)
Can operate under the following conditions:
- Battery voltage
- Current current
- Time to discharge
- Temperature (with sensor)
Especially effective for LiFePO₄ batteries, because:
- They have a flat discharge curve
- They are quickly charged with high currents
- The generator runs for an optimal time, without unnecessary fuel consumption
