The Victron Battery Balancer is designed to balance the charge level between two 12V batteries connected in series in 24, 26, and 48-volt systems, or between several batteries connected in series-parallel.
Uneven charge levels can lead to overcharging of one battery and undercharging of the other, which reduces battery life by up to 70% and lowers system reliability by up to 50%.
This balancer automatically equalizes the voltage between the batteries by drawing current (up to 1A) from the battery with the higher voltage, thus ensuring the same SOC (state of charge) in all batteries.
Key benefits of the Victron Battery Balancer
- Protects batteries from premature aging
- Automatic balancing of 24, 36, and 48V systems
- Up to 3 balancers for 48V systems
- Suitable for AGM, GEL, and LiFePO4 batteries
- Easy installation, clear LED indicators
- Ability to connect multiple balancers in parallel
- Relay output for signaling significant imbalance

Application scenarios
- Systems with 24V or 48V battery banks
- LiFePO₄ power systems – increased safety and service life
- Marine systems – safe operation without overvoltage
- Off-grid vehicles, campers – preserving battery lifespan
- Home ESS systems – ensuring uniform battery operation in a string
- Telecom and infrastructure facilities – where stability is critical
Technical features
- Automatic balancing between series-connected batteries
- Relay imbalance alarm (over 200 mV)
- Manual alarm reset function
- Voltage trend monitoring – balancing only when the difference is stable
- Compatibility with BMV-702/712 for midpoint monitoring
- Parallel operation of multiple devices in complex configurations
Integration with BMV-702/712
Using the BMV-702 or BMV-712 Battery Monitor, you can measure deviations from the midpoint (midpoint monitoring), trigger an alarm in case of deviation, and use a relay for remote notification or system automation.
