Victron AGM Deep Cycle 12V 240Ah– is a reliable deep cycle battery that uses VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) technology with AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), which provides high resistance to deep discharges, minimal self-discharge and completely maintenance-free operation. The battery is ideal for systems with Victron Energy inverters, solar power plants, marine and mobile applications.
Key advantages of the Victron AGM Deep Cycle battery
- Capacity of 240Ah at 12V – universal capacity for a variety of tasks.
- AGM technology – electrolyte is absorbed in a fiberglass mat, which makes the battery resistant to vibrations.
- Fully sealed case (VRLA) – maintenance-free, no electrolyte leakage.
- High resistance to deep discharges – maintains capacity even after prolonged discharge.
- Low self-discharge rate – <2% per month – ideal for seasonal use.
- Durability – 7-10 years in buffer mode at 20°C.
- High cold cranking capacity (650CCA) – can be used as a starter battery or with powerful industrial UPSs.
- Works perfectly with Victron inverters and solar controllers.
- Can be installed on different sides, except with the terminals down.
- The terminal is made with a thread for vertical screwing in the bolt from the kit.
Technological features
- Optimum depth of discharge up to 50% for over 600 cycles, at 30% – up to 1500 cycles.
- Fast charging capability – support currents up to 0.2C (up to 48A), suitable for generators and MPPT controllers.
- Temperature compensation of charge – ±4 mV per cell (–24 mV/°C at 12V).
- 4-stage adaptive Victron charge curve – the best solution for protection against gassing in the battery and extending the battery life.
- Resistance to high loads – support for inverters and high-power UPS.
Usage scenarios
- Backup systems with generators – as a buffer battery for 5-10 minutes before starting the generator.
- Backup systems without a generator – as a deep-discharge AGM battery for 0.5 - 12 hours before mains power appears
- Autonomous houses and cottages – work with Victron inverters for backup power, including recharging from generators or solar panels
- Solar power plants – as a buffer or main battery.
- Camping and motorhomes – powering refrigerators, lighting, inverters.
- Marine applications – stable power supply for navigation equipment.
Service support in Ukraine
Total-Energo LLC” – the official representative of Victron Energy in Ukraine, provides a full range of services: from designing autonomous and hybrid systems, to installation, configuration and warranty service of equipment, including integration with inverters, controllers and generators.
Communication and monitoring interfaces
Although the battery itself does not have digital interfaces, you can use:
- Battery Monitor BMV-700/712 – full control of battery charge, consumption, currents, number of cycles.
- SmartShunt – Bluetooth monitoring and communication with the VRM portal.
- Smart Battery Sense – battery voltage and temperature control
- Orion Smart DC/DC Charger – chargers for recharging batteries from a car / boat generator
- Blue Smart IP65 Charger – chargers for recharging batteries from a 220V network
- BatteryProtect and Smart BatteryProtect – battery protection against deep discharge, which turns off the battery when the voltage drops below the level set by the user! Significantly extends the service life of AGM batteries!
- Battery Balancer – In 24 and 48 Volt circuits with 12V AGM batteries in series, a balancer is almost a mandatory accessory.
