Switch panel, boat mode and other improvements

Today, the Venus OS for Victron GX devices – Cerbo GX / Cerbo GX Mk2 / Ekrano GX has been updated to version 3.60 with exciting new user interface features, several essential fixes, and a number of powerful new capabilities. Before we dive into this blog post, take a look at this slide panel for a visual overview of what’s new.

Introducing the New Switch Panel

The new switch panel provides quick access to switching functions in vehicles, boats, or stationary systems, either via the touchscreen or through VRM.

A button in the upper-left corner of the new interface opens the panel, giving users quick access to load controls and key system components.

Currently, the four-channel SmartSwitch Energy Solutions DC4 is supported. Devices from other digital switching partners will be added soon.

Marine-Specific Updates

This release includes a significant update to the Marine MFD HTML5 application, greatly improving display quality on high-definition multifunction displays such as Garmin 9000. A night mode with a soft red overlay has also been introduced, making it safer for the eyes in low-light conditions.

This update also introduces a dedicated "Electric Boat" page, accessible via a new icon at the bottom of the user interface. It is designed for small vessels with electric propulsion and displays key information such as speed, RPM, electric motor power consumption, and battery state of charge.

Finally, the "Overview" page in the user interface now allows selecting individual tanks for display as circular gauges instead of being limited to selection by tank type. This provides greater flexibility, especially in marine and camper applications, for example displaying total fuel together with a day tank for quick access to key values.

VE.Bus Settings Backup and Restore

This GX device firmware update introduces a backup and restore function for VE.Bus configuration and settings. This allows rapid system recovery in installations with multiple units after one unit fails. The recovery process automatically identifies the replacement device and applies the correct configuration.

This function also allows fast switching between different configurations in applications where regular configuration changes are required.
